I've always tried to follow that old adage of "you learn something new every day." And not something simple or forgettable but something that will leave an impression. Something that I could bring up in a conversation and have the people around me captivated by what I am telling them. Most of the time it has to do with space or the natural world or history, things that some people devote their lives to. Well, today is no different... I could literally feel the wrinkle forming in my brain when this nugget of truth made itself aware to me. I feel like I am a slightly better person now and if you're reading this then I'm about to turn you into a better person as well. Ascend with me...
Today I learned that it is physically possible to puke up shit. That's right. Something that you ingested can be so foul, so evil that it will actually crawl it's way back up all the way from your intestines, through your stomach, up your esophagus and out your nose and mouth. It's called stercoraceous vomiting or "fecal vomiting." You learn something new every day.
How's that for a first post? Let me just clarify that this blog is not intended to be sick or disgusting, although I could see how you would think that based on the title (get it?) and this first post, no this was simply a matter of bad timing. I was staring at the "create link" box on this site trying to think of a catchy name when I came across the word "emesis" -which is such a great word in my opinion- and wah-lah. There you have it. I learned something new, you probably did too, at least I hope you did (or you're a doctor so you have an excuse) and the internet now has another blog to claim victim.
I'll be periodically updating this with rants, raves, grumblings, opinions, pictures, pictures of my dog and whatever else comes to mind. If you read it, that's cool, and if not -- FUCK YOU.
